Captain America The Winter Solider
What can one say about Marvels Captain America The Winter Solider? It was a spectacular movie,action packed, edge of your seat gold mine! I personally have only seen the first one, one time and to be honest I wasn’t impressed its definitely my least favorite movie but now with this second installment I am impressed!
Chris Evans does a phenomenal job playing Steve Rodgers once again. I wasn’t aware of who the Winter Solider was because I never really read any of the comic books, However I hope he reappears in later movies! Avengers 2 is really going to have to blow my socks off to win back the greatest film title.
Wardrobe: I was happy that they brought in the old Captain America Suit. I liked the shield one that he wears throughout most of the movie but I was grinning like an idiot when they brought in the suit he wore in the first movie and in the Avengers
I will give this movie a 9 out of 10 stars. Its probably not perfect but one of the best films I have seen in a while! Marvel keeps taking themselves one step farther and knocking the pants off of people.
If you haven’t seen this movie yet I urge you to go pronto!!
(Side note:) My favorite UFC fighter gets to go toe to toe with Captain America!! (Probably one of my favorite scenes) George St. Pierre
Welcome to yet another geek-filled interview I had the pleasure of doing with a lifetime friend that I was fortunate to meet through Myspace when It was still the hot ticket in the social media world! I even had the pleasure of meeting her in person a long time ago!!! Lets not waste time and introduce you to Stephanie! You can find her on twitter @stephaniehxc.
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself anything you’d like to share!
Well, I’m Stephanie and I live in good ol’ Nebraska. I’m a diabetic and have been since I was 21 months old. I love reading, fishing, and hanging out at the river and lake by our house. I have a boyfriend of 3 years who I love stupid amounts 🙂
 What’s the nerdiest thing about you?
Well, I go crazy when a new book I want to read is coming out. City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare is part of the City of Bones series and it’s the last book in the series. I pre-ordered it 2 months ago and am counting down the days until May 28th. I cannot wait to read it. I also get really sad when a series ends. I finally read Vampire Academy (which I really didn’t even think I’d like so it took me forever to finally read it) and when I finished the 6th book, I was so sad. I loved the main characters so I felt like I had lost a friend. Oh, I’m also REALLY good at ping-pong 🙂
 What are your favorite types of books and why?
I love mystery/crime novels because I love trying to figure out who killed who and why. I’m usually wrong, but it’s fun to try! I love, love, love fantasy. Vampires and werewolves and shadowhunters. Anything that gets me out of my current world and into something that could never happen. I also love anything Stephen King because, well, he’s a god. Seriously. So good. He has two new books coming out this year 🙂
 What in your opinion makes a good book?
I was just talking about this the other day. I love a book that has a story line. And not just any story line, it has to keep you on the edge of your seat. There are a lot of my friends that like Romance novels. No. I don’t want to read sex scene after sex scene with no story. I want action. I want mystery. I want to try to guess what is going to happen and then be proven wrong.
Have you always had your nose in a book or is it something that you just started doing recently?
My mom read to me a lot growing up and as soon as I could pick up a book I was reading to her. In college I didn’t read cause I was too busy partying, but when I moved to Boise I read all the time. Since moving back to Nebraska in 2010 I still have read but not as much as recently. I read ALL the time now. While at work, when I’m on break I’m reading. When I go home, I’m reading. When I wake up and can’t sleep, I’m reading. Brett will go to the river and hang up my hammock and I lay in it and read.
Who is your ultimate favorite author? Why?
I have a few. Cassandra Clare, Richelle Mead, Charlaine Harris, Stephen King, Marissa Meyer. I like them because they have written some of my favorite series. And Stephen King because everything he writes (that I’ve read anyway) is amazing.
15. How do you feel about book based movies? Such as Twilight, Divergent, etc.?
I have not seen Divergent or Vampire Academy yet, but I’m not usually not a fan of movies based on books. There was a series I had read and then I watched the movie and it was SO BAD. They changed things that shouldn’t have been changed. It was Beautiful Creatures. So, so bad. I turned it off halfway through the movie because I just couldn’t take it anymore. I can see them changing some things but when EVERYTHING is different. That’s some bullshit. Just give it a different name entirely. The True Blood show is based on the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris and they change things but I like it that way because it’s a TV show so if they do the season finale and keep it like it is in the books, you will know what’s going to happen. They don’t stick to the books so you never know. I think that may be the only exception since I LOVE that show.
 What is your favorite type of music?
I love anything Rock ‘n Roll. If it has some screaming in it the better. A Day To Remember, The Pretty Reckless, The Used, New Medicine, Hollywood Undead, Flyleaf, and Breaking Benjamin are some of my favorite bands. The Used, The Pretty Reckless, and ADTR all had CD’s come out recently that are to die for.
Between childhood and adulthood how has your taste in music changed?
I grew up in rural Nebraska so I grew up around country music. George Strait, Garth Brooks, Alabama, and Shania Twain. I still love old country but I cannot stand new country now. When I was about 16 I started hanging around the skate park in a city nearby and they helped me start listening to better music. I loved it from the first time I listened to Sum 41, System of a Down, and Green Day. It just fit who I was so much better if that even makes sense.
 What is one nerdy thing you would like to get into more but just haven’t been able to?
I would love to be good at video games. I just really suck. I play some Rachet and Clank with my boyfriend, Brett, but I’m pretty terrible.
 What is your favorite thing about playing Rachet and Clank? What other video games do you like if any?
I honestly don’t know what it is about Rachet and Clank. My parents bought me that game when I was a senior in high school and I loved to play it. Then Brett and I bought a R&C game at Hastings Bookstore one day and we played it for hours. I think it’s cause I’m okay at it. Brett and I always fight over who can get more bolts to haha. I like watching Brett play. If he’s playing COD I will tell him where people are. Or GTA I’ll be yelling at him “Go run over that person! Get a hooker! Paint your car this color!” I’m like a backseat driver only for video games haha.
 If you could walk in one famous persons shoes who would your pick be and why?
Oh man, that’s really hard. I don’t know if I’d even want to. I have social anxiety so just thinking about being around a bunch of people is freaking me out. I really don’t think I could do it.
 What is one thing about yourself that others may not know?
Like I mentioned before, I have social anxiety. It’s not something I like to tell people when I meet them because it just sounds so silly. I have a terrible time meeting people and talking to them. I also don’t trust people at all. I’ve been fucked over so many times by former friends of mine in the last couple years that I just would rather not even try. I’m okay with being a loner though.
What made you decide to volunteer to be interviewed by me?
I read your last interview and it seemed fun! If you had been some stranger, I wouldn’t have volunteered. But we have been friends for years so I felt comfortable doing this interview 🙂
 If you could go back in time and meet yourself what advice would you give to a younger Steph?
Well, I wouldn’t tell myself to do anything different. I love where I’m at in life and the man in my life and if I would have done things differently, I wouldn’t have met Brett. I went through some shit in the past years but in the end, it was all worth it.
 How has social media impacted/improved your life? If it affected it negatively how so?
Oh man, my mom would have so much to say about this 🙂 Social media helped me become who I am today. I was a HUGE Myspace nerd. I would create my layouts from scratch and change it at least once a week. I basically taught myself all the Myspace codes. I was always finding ways to make my Myspace perfect. I make friends really easily online because it’s easier to talk to them. People might think that’s a negative about social media but for me it’s so nice. I also met you, Courtney, through social media and we have been friends for a longgg time 🙂
 Who has inspired you to be the person you are today? How so?
I don’t know if I’ve had any one person inspire me. I’ve had a lot of people like my momma and sister inspire me. I’ve also had a lot of experiences mold me into who I am today. I’ve overcome a lot in my life and still have so much to overcome. Because of those experiences, I’ve become a beautiful, young lady 🙂
